Pan-Pacific Festival
The 39th annual Pan-Pacific Festival takes place in Waīkīki this weekend, featuring cultural activities and performances.
Kalaeloa Play Day
For the inaugural Kalaeloa Play Day, four venues in Kapolei will offer discount rates for ziplines, Nerf games, aerial obstacle courses, go-karts and bowling. Discounts range from $5 off at K1 Speed to 50 percent off an aerial challenge course at Coral Crater Park. An all-day package is also available for all four venues. Kids must be at least 6 years old and over 60 pounds to participate in some activities. For smaller keiki, there will be free face-painting, bubble soccer, balloon creations and other fun at various places.

39th Annual Pan-Pacific Festival
The Pan-Pacific Festival takes place Friday to Sunday in Waikīkī and in the Ala Moana Center, featuring cultural dances, crafts, food and entertainers mainly from Asia and Hawai'i. For the family-friendliest segments, attend the hoʻolauleʻa block party on Kalākaua Avenue on Friday night, the street dance fest at Waikīkī Beach Walk Plaza stage on Friday evening, or the parade on Kalākaua Avenue on Sunday afternoon. Wildest Show in Town Summer Concert Series 2018
Honolulu Zoo’s 10-week outdoor concert series began on Wednesday, featuring Hawaiian music artist Kapena as the entertainer. The live concerts continue every Wednesday through mid August. Enter the zoo from the Monsarrat gate as early as 4:35 p.m. to watch pre-show entertainment, participate in keiki activities, purchase food and beverages, and claim a spot on the lawn before the concert begins at 6 p.m. Every week, two free 'ukuleles (one for a child and one for an adult) will be given away. The zoo’s playground and main exhibits close at 4:30 p.m. and will be off-limits to concertgoers. Chasing Coral: Free Film Showing
Celebrate World Ocean’s Day on Sunday by exploring Hanauma Bay, then hang around in the late afternoon to attend a free showing of the documentary Chasing Coral, which follows a team of global scientists, divers and photographers who study the disappearance of coral reefs. The underwater film was shot over three years in over 30 countries and runs approximately 90 minutes long. Parking at Hanauma Bay is $1 before 4 p.m. and free after 4 p.m. Park admission is free for locals with state ID. Bring your own snacks and drinks to the showing.

Kālua Pig Festival
Coral Crater Adventure Park–one of the four venues participating in Kalaeloa Play Day on Sunday–is the host of the inaugural Kālua Pig Festival. Starting at noon, sample new dishes made from kālua pig. At 5:30 p.m., watch a performance by the Hālau `O Kaululaua`e, followed by a Hawaiian cooking demonstration in an authentic imu.
