Livable Hawaiʻi Kai Hui (LHKH) will host the public to its Keawāwa Wetland celebration of 2020 World Wetlands Day - Wetlands and Biodiversity. The public can tour the wetland and heiau, hear from experts on wetland biodiversity, visit educational and interactive displays and volunteer with plantings and restoration of the wetland. Gate opens at 9:30 am.
Featured speaker includes Dr. Charles van Rees, Ph.D., naturalist, conservation biologist and advisory ecologist. His fieldwork has focused on the endangered Hawaiian Moorhen (‘Alae ‘ula) and wetland habitat conservation throughout O’ahu.
Street parking can be found along Hawaii Kai Drive and neighboring streets. Chain link fence entry to wetland located near 7000 Hawaii Kai Dr. condominium entrance.
