2019 KCC Community Tech Fair: A free event about everyday technology.
Learn about everyday technology through hands-on activities, demos and prizes. Bring your own smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
Activities include:
- Microsoft - Learn from an artist showcasing her digital and anime art using a Surface pen, try VR experiences and Xbox gaming, use different Surface apps at the Surface Bar.
- Eyes of Hawai‘i- Try light painting, bokeh, and photowalks around campus.
- Great Big Games - Evan Knight's big wooden toys & puzzles. Play giant chess and win chess collectible pins. Draft your own inventions and the best designs will be printed for you.
- Hawaiʻi Women in Filmmaking - Watch films made in Hawaiʻi by girls aged between 12-19.
- Hawai‘i State Public Libraries (Ancestry.com, e-magazines, etc.) - Trace your ancestry, listen to a novel, or take an online computer class.
- Hawaiʻi Mac & Apple Users - Tips, tricks, and shortcuts to better utilize your ipad and Mac.
- Hawaiian Hope - Declutter all your ewaste (old phones, laptops, monitors, etc; don't need to be in working condition) to recycle for a good cause.
- Office Depot - Bring your papers to shred and test out the different shredders.
- Sacred Hearts Academy - Different sets of robotics to try out
- T-Mobile - Internet of Things for your home.
- Learn music coding, check out our programmable drones, learn about cybersafety, spotting & removing viruses.
- Try geocaching, a Breakout Room (difficult level: medium), create light-up paper circuit cards, design a felt taco shell to keep all your cords tidy, draw then make your unique techie or emoji pin, talk drone with experts.
- Learn from experts - Best travel hacks & apps, best health sources beyond Google, legal forms and resources.
- Free parking, lots of door prizes every half hour, many fun and educational hands-on sessions and demonstrations.
