Fantasy Night Skies
to
Join us for this workshop as we explore the wonders of the night sky through stories and art. We'll hear mo'olelo about the constellations Polynesian navigators use to sail across the Pacific Ocean. Then we'll navigate through our imaginations to create new constellations. Using a special photo solution, we'll make cyanotype prints to illustrate our own fantasy night skies. Guest artist Ualani Davis teaches visual arts at Kamehameha High School Kapalama and specializes in hand-applied photographic techniques. This workshop is offered in collaboration with CONTACT 2016: Foreign and Familiar, a show of recent artworks by Hawai`i's contemporary artists.
