Film series showcases William Shakespeare at Doris Duke Theatre

The Honolulu Museum of Art's Doris Duke Theatre presents the film series The Big Bard on the Big Screen, which explores the relationship between English poet and playwright William Shakespeare's play performances and cinematic adaptations. The series opens November 25 with the Royal Opera House's Opera in Cinema adaptation of Macbeth. Before each film showing, Hawaii Shakespeare Festival actors will treat audiences to short vignette performances of The Tempest, The Taming of the Shrew, Othelo and Romeo and Juliet.
