Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, families around the world are now being affected by having to stay home and practice social distancing. This prolonged period of isolation might create stress and anxiety that can take a toll on any family dynamic. This so-called new normal is a lot to take in for everyone, but even more so for parents and the children that depend on them. In this workshop, we will be covering communication and coping techniques, managing emo-tions, positive discipline techniques, and the importance of staying connected with family and friends during this time.
The webinar is taught by "Allyssa," the Parent Educator at P.A.R.E.N.T.S., Inc., facilitating classes five days a week. As a parent educator, she facilitates group-based discussion classes where she relates the activities in the class to real life situations. Before working at P.A.R.E.N.T.S., Inc., Allyssa was a full-time caregiver with the Department of Defense in the Child Development Centers, working directly with children ranging from 6 weeks to 18 years old.
