Each week, Hanauma Bay bring leading researchers, environmental leaders, natural resource managers, or cultural practitioners of Hawaiʻi to Hanauma Bay to talk about their work. We also host educational films and community events. All community outreach events are free for Hawai’i residents and open to the public. Science talks and educational films are free, every Thursday, and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Parking is free after 4 p.m.
- Thursday, Jan. 10: Doorae Shin, Plastic Free Hawai'i and the Kōkua Hawai'i Foundation give a presentation titled, "where is away?"
- Thursday, Jan. 17: Hannah Shippman and Blue Planet Foundation address energy efficiency "a bridge to 100 percent clean energy in Hawaiʻi."
- Thursday, Jan. 24: Jhana Young of Conservation International addresses market-based solutions in sustainable seafood.
- Thursday, Jan. 31: Eva Schemmel and Conservation International addresses gonads, fishing biology and coral reef management.
