Japanese Buddhist Temple Exhibit and Tour

View a gallery exhibition of temple furnishings at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii and explore Honolulu's most prominent Japanese buddhist temples. Tour guides George and Willa Tanabe will explain the symbolic meanings behind the architecture and its historical significance. Tour is sponsored by the Hawaii Tourism Authority, The Hiroaki, Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, Hawaii Buddhist Council and Elaine & Lawrence Kono Foundation.
An opening reception on Dec. 1 at 11:30 a.m. will mark the launch of George and Will Tanabe's guidebook Buddhist Temples in Hawaii: An Illustrated Guide. Published by the University of Hawai‘i Press, the book describes 90 Japanese Buddhist temples in the state.
