Lantern Floating Hawaii 2016 at Ala Moana Beach Park

This unique ceremony in Hawaii brings tens of thousands of people to Ala Moana Beach Park every year to watch as floating lanterns are set into the water after sunset, in memory of loved ones. If you want to write a message in someone's memory, you can get a free lantern starting at 10 a.m. on Monday. Get there early if you want a lantern or plan to see the event in person as the park, and especially the parking lot, fills up early in the morning. Bring food, shelter and be ready to wait.
