Harold L. Lyon Arboretum will celebrate its centennial with a free festival, garden tours, food trucks, live music and performances and arts and crafts. Kids can see professional tree climbers scale some of the gardens biggest trees, play Hawaiian games and take a snapshot in the nature photo booth. Learn more about invasive species, native plants and more at the education booths then stop by the plant sale. Food vendors include Flyin' ‘Ahi, Serg's Mexican Cuisine, Peace Cafe, Olay's Thai Food Express and a shave ice stand. The schedule of entertainment includes Ooklah the Moc, Kumuola Serenaders, Nā Pualei o Likolehua and more.
The parking lot at Lyon Arboretum will be closed. Instead, park at the old Treetops Restaurant on Mānoa Road before the road heading up to the arboretum and walk up. A shuttle will be available for people who need assistance.
