The National Cinema Department has begun a tour of the U.S. that starts in Honolulu and brings filmmakers, actors, critics and scholars to Hawai‘i to present critically acclaimed films.
This historical drama recounts the life of Ly Cong Uan (Quách Ngọc Ngoan), from his youth as a Buddhist disciple to his ascension to Emperor of Vietnam in 1010 AD. Special guests: Actor Quách Ngọc Ngoan and producer Lê Minh Tâm will be in attendance on July 8 at 7:30pm. Special guests: Director/actor Dustin Nguyễn and producer Bebe Pham will be in attendance on July 5 at 7:30pm. Vilsoni Hereniko, filmmaker and professor, University of Hawai‘i–Mānoa, Academy of Creative Media, will moderate a Q+A following the screening.
