'Ohana Volunteer Day at Waimea Valley

Waimea Valley wants you and your family to join its ‘Ohana Volunteer Day. This is a brand-new volunteer program geared towards the families in the area with younger kids as an opportunity for them to get involved, give back and learn.
The volunteer projects will generally be located in the botanical gardens and cultural sites.
These opportunities will be for a maximum of 30 participants each day and will be open to all ages, but recommended to the parents with children under 12 years old.
RSVPs are required to attend the event at volunteers@waimeavalley.net. Gloves and tools will be provided along with a project that is suitable to the group.

The basic schedule for one of these volunteer days will be:
- 9 a.m. Volunteers Arrive sign waivers
- 9:15 a.m. Volunteer group will participate in the oli protocol
- 9:30 a.m. Arrive at Volunteer Site
- 11:30 a.m. Volunteer project is finished, volunteers are encouraged to get lunch at our snack shop and then explore the valley.*
*All participants earn free entry into the valley for the day and may sign up for an optional cultural activity after lunchtime.
*There will also be a plant sale that day from 8 a.m. to noon at the valley.
The volunteers will be helping us with important upkeep in our botanical gardens and Cultural sites. It will also be a great way for us to connect with families in the area and share Waimea with them.
