HiSAM’s Second Saturday offers free admission and hands-on art activities by professional artists and arts organizations. Galleries are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and activities take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Past events have featured weaving, ceramics, watercolor, quilting, ink brush painting, multi-media sculpture, and more.

July 14: Shadow Puppets with Bonnie Kim, quilt activity with the Hawaiʻi Quilt Guild.
Aug. 11: Clay Day with the Hawaiʻi Potters’ Guild.
Sept. 8: Hawaiʻi Craftsmen, Tree Cycle
Oct. 13: Hawaiʻi Fibre & Arts Guild, make a flip book.
Nov. 10: Activity to be announced.
Dec. 8: Stamp prints with Margo Vitarelli.
