Symmetry in Islamic Art: A Hands-On Workshop

Through hands-on activities in origami, cutting, and coloring, participants of all ages will enjoy creating designs and patterns. In these patterns we will find symmetry and geometry also present in works of Islamic art that can be seen at Shangri La, Doris Duke's home in Honolulu, which is now a museum of Islamic art. This 90-minute workshop will be held in the First Floor Reading Room and is suitable for ages 5 and older. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver.
