Ukulele Experience Grand Opening

The Polynesian Cultural Center is hosting an Aloha Friday grand opening celebration to debut its newest exhibit, the Ukulele Experience. Be among the first to tour this new tribute dedicated to the cultural significance of Hawaii's official state instrument.
Guests will enjoy a guided or interactive digital tour illustrating the five stages of creating an ukulele. Keiki can learn basic chords in the new Keiki Studio.
Following the opening ceremony and cultural blessing is a free community concert featuring local artists Corey Fujimoto, Honoka & Azita and Kalei Gamiao. Guests can enter a drawing to win one of four free ukulele that are being presented in celebration of the grand opening. For generations, the ukulele has been integral to the love of Hawaiian music and a treasured aspect of local lifestyles and Hawaii culture. Its beloved legacy has been popularized worldwide by artists like the late Israel Kamakawiwoole and Jake Shimabukuro, who are renowned for their ukulele musical talents.
